Dan Hathaway Named Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation Executive Director

Mr. Hathaway brings over 40 years of experience in a variety of industries to the SSSF/SCTP. He has a diverse background that includes product marketing, merchandising, retail store management, telemarketing, and distribution center management in the specialty food industry. He has over 10 years of experience in the Banking/Trust Services industry as a Trust Investment officer. He served as a Director of Gift Planning and Development for a Medical College where he generated major gifts. As a consultant, he acted as General Manager of a private country club, served as Marketing Director for a Junior A Hockey organization, and provided marketing and website design services to a shooting club. He is the owner and Principal of Hathaway & Associates, LLC.

As a volunteer, Dan served on the Board of Trustees for several local charities including the MS Society, Visiting Nurse Association Fund Board (president), and St. John’s Jesuit High School Hockey Boosters (president); served as a tournament volunteer with the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic LPGA event for over 20 years and served as Tournament Chair in 1999, supervising 1500 volunteers; and acted as Vice Chairman of the 2003 US Senior Open with responsibilities for Hospitality Services.

He has been an avid outdoorsman for most of his life and for the past 7 years, active in the clay target sports. He shoots competitive registered skeet as a member of the NSSA and has competed in NSCA sporting clays events. He has helped organize successful skeet clinics at his home club, sponsored by the Ohio State Skeet Shooting Association, and brought new competitive shooters to skeet. He also co-managed a registered shoot at his club. He supports conservation groups such as Ducks Unlimited and is a member of the NRA, Pheasants Forever, and USA Shooting. He also is a supporter of NSSF.

Dan is a graduate of Ohio University (BS) and the ABA National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. He served his country as Communications Officer in the United States Navy and is a Vietnam Veteran.

Dan’s leadership skills will be a great asset to our organization as we move forward with our program today and to develop these additional opportunities.”
