Brian D. Smith the founder of the Monster Buck Classic We Are Kansas event announced Tuesday the dates for the 2013 event.
“I am proud to announce that the Monster Buck Classic will be held January 25-27, 2013 in Topeka, KS at the Kansas ExpoCentre once again. The 2012 event was a huge success and we are anticipating an even bigger event in 2013. We have expanded the event after a sellout of available booths in 2012 to 130 vendor booths available in 2013. I anticipate that we will sell all the booths we have again this year. We will again have Jerry Boyles 3-D Bow Range, celebrities Spook Spann, Zac Cooper along with other hunting celebrities TBA, the Kidz Zone, exciting attractions and our second annual Monster Buck Contest. Last year there was a tremendous amount of attention around the potential Kansas state record, a 198 inch Monster Buck that was entered into the Monster Buck Contest only to be disqualified because it was poached by the hunter. We crowned our first ever King of Kansas Typical and Non-Typical. The Typical crown belonged to a net 182 1/8 inch bruiser taken by Rachelle Karl and the Non-Typical belonged to a net 242 inch monster taken by Lucas Cochren. This year we are expecting an even bigger turn out for the contest. One neat thing happening this year is one of our corporate sponsors, Eddy Packaging will be smoking food all day everyday and offering it to attendees at no cost.”
