The Gun Club of America’s GunStock to Benefit The Pathway Home

The Gun Club of America (GCA) today announced that 100% of the proceeds from GunStock raffles and auctions, plus a portion of the attendence fees from its fourth annual event, GunStock, will go to the aid of the GCA Charity of the Year, The Pathway Home.  The Pathway Home is a Yountville, California non-profit, residential recovery program for returning veterans and active duty members of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars who deal with the challenges of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS).

“On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff and residents, I sincerely thank the Gun Club of America and the American Gunsmithing Institute for selecting The Pathway Home as a beneficiary to Gunstock,” remarked Founder and Executive Director of The Pathway Home Fred Gusman. “GCA and AGI have brought awareness of this critical program to an entirely new audience and the support of these individuals has been inspirational.  The Pathway Home is proud of this affiliation and looks forward to a long-lasting partnership.”

“At the Gun Club of America and the American Gunsmithing Institute, we value and appreciate the commitment and sacrifice our military personnel have made over the years in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq,” commented Gene Kelly, President of American Gunsmithing Institute and the Gun Club of America. “We’ve teamed up with The Pathway Home as our Charity Partner of the Year because we believe in the good work that they are doing for these men and women. We are proud to be able to contribute to their cause by all means available, including our fourth annual event GunStock.”

The Pathway Home is a program to provide our nation’s “New Warriors” with the tools needed to manage mental health issues which arose during and after military deployment to Afghanistan and Iraq, so they can effectively complete educational programs, gain employment, maintain healthy personal relationships and successfully reintegrate into society. This successful program has already assisted over 320 severely impacted veterans and 150 family members.  Although located on the grounds of the Veterans Home in Yountville, CA, it is not affiliated with the VA, nor does it receive any government funding. They are currently working to expand nationwide to help U.S. veterans.

The Pathway Home is the only program of its kind in California licensed as a Social Rehabilitation Facility and certified by the Department of Mental Health to operate a residential treatment program for PTS and war-related TBI.
