Nebraska’s Platte River State Park to Host Outdoor Skills Events

Platte River State Park will host several events related to outdoor skills in June. The events will take place at the Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex.

The Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program will host rifle and handgun classes on Wednesdays in June from 6-9 p.m.

A Learn to Hunt workshop is scheduled for June 2 from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. for ages 11 and older. The cost is $25. The workshop will cover all types of hunting and trapping.

A men’s Outdoor Skills workshop will be June 16 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for ages 18 and older. The cost is $25. Archery, firearms, kayak fishing, survival, hunt preparation and venison sausage making are the topics.
