Two Days of Shooting Fun at Tin Man 200 in Arizona

Don’t miss the opportunity to shoot 200 clay targets at two Arizona ranges (Northern Arizona Shooting Range and the Ben Avery Clay Target Center) this weekend during the two-day Tin Man 200 event. The event is open to members of the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) as well as to non-members, regardless of experience level.
NSCA members
Current NSCA members will shoot the first 100 targets on Saturday, May 19, at Northern Arizona Shooting Range near Flagstaff. The second set of 100 targets will be shot on Sunday, May 20, at the Ben Avery Clay Target Center in Phoenix.
Registration at Northern Arizona Shooting Range begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 19. The shoot starts at 11 a.m. Registration at Ben Avery Clay Target Center opens at 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 20, and the shoot starts at 9 a.m. The NSCA registered 100-target main events each day cost $50, including all fees. ($100 for 200 targets over two days at both locations.) Shoots both days offer $10 Back-to-Class options, as well as $10 Lewis Class options. Top shooters will take home the coveted Tin Man Trophy.
Non-members
Non-NSCA members and shooters who are available for only one day or the other are welcome to participate in Fun Shoots, which will be offered at both ranges at a cost of just $30 for 100 targets. Fun Shoot scores are not officially tracked or recorded by the NSCA.
Newcomers and non-members are invited to sign up for complimentary NSCA membership valid through 2012, and make the Tin Man 200 their first registered shoot. NSCA keeps records of members’ competition scores and registered shoots with clubs and associations.

The two-day, two-venue Tin Man 200 event was inspired by the longer and more strenuous Ironman Shooting Series, which features three days of shooting at four separate ranges located in northern, central and southern areas of Arizona.
Northern Arizona Shooting Range near Flagstaff accepts cash and checks only. No credit or debit cards accepted. Ben Avery Clay Target Center accepts cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.
Northern Arizona Shooting Range is located near Flagstaff. DIRECTIONS: Take I-17 to I-40 and go east 15.5 miles to Winona exit #211, turn right on Forest Road #82, go 1.5 miles to intersection of Forest Road #82 and Forest Road #128, turn right on Forest Road #128, go 4.1 miles to Forest Road #128A, go .3 miles on the dirt road and follow the signs.
Ben Avery Clay Target Center is located at 5060 W. Skeet St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85086. DIRECTIONS: Take I-17 to Carefree Highway exit #223B, go west 1.9 miles, turn right at first light onto Archery Drive, go .4 miles, turn left on Skeet Street.
Shooters may use 12 or 20 gauge shotguns. Use of shot sizes larger than #7-1/2, more than 1-1/8 ounces of shot, or powder charge in excess of 3-1/4 dram is prohibited. Shot sizes #9, #8, and #7-1/2 are appropriate loads for Sporting Clays.
