Colorado’s Mancos State Park’s Memorial Weekend Events
OutdoorHub 05.23.12
Mancos State Park is ready for a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend. There are a few sites still available for Friday night and Sunday night. But, the park is open for day use every day. The courtesy dock is now open at the boat ramp and you are welcome to launch your boats for a fun day of boating. The pre-launch boat inspection station is open and will inspect your boats for aquatic nuisance species (ANS). Help to prevent the spread of zebra and quagga mussels and other ANS by keeping your boat “Clean, Drained, and Dry.”
Mancos State Park rents pedal boats, canoes, and kayaks by the half day or full day. They also sell firewood at the entrance station. Fishing licenses and park passes are also available for purchase at the park entrance. A day use or annual pass is required on all vehicles, daily passes are $7 per vehicle and annual passes vary in price. Be sure to bring your own fishing bait. The fishing has been very good for rainbow trout and yellow perch.
Mancos State Park will have regular Interpretive Programs throughout the summer, starting this weekend. The programs for this weekend include:
