Drift’s pro team continues to expand its extensive depth of talent by welcoming reigning FIM FMX World Champion, Javier Villegas, to the wearable action camera’s official team roster.
The native Chilean freestyle motocross sensation began riding FMX in 2001, quickly leading him to the top-ranked FMX rider in South America. 2011 marked Villegas most successful season to date, becoming the first non-European rider to win the FIM FMX World Championships. Drift looks forward to supporting his eventful 2012 season as he consistently heats up the competition, already taking the podium at the first round of the Red Bull X-Fighters contest in Dubai last month, an event that gathers the best of the best.
“We’re stoked to sign Javier on the Drift team, he’s truly an amazing talent. We’re really excited about the incredible FMX content he’s going to capture using Drift products and we look forward to regularly sharing these images with all of our fans”, said Drift’s Global Brand Manager, Simon Wootton.
Drift’s top-selling Drift HD Camera is the perfect match for Villegas to capture all the action of his aerial antics, offering viewers the rare opportunity to experience the intensity as if they were on the bike themselves. The Drift HD action camera is one of the most functional, easy to use and durable point of view action cameras available on the market. It features an integrated LCD screen to instantly review footage and confirm the desired shot, a wireless remote control to start and stop recording on the fly and a replaceable rotating lens to capture any angle from compatible mounts. A plethora of mounting options and accessories offered by Drift guarantee secure placement in the most action-filled moments.
In addition to riding his bike and competing in races, one of Villegas’ hobbies is editing videos. He looks forward to editing and sharing his Drift footage.
“I’m thrilled to sign on with Drift during such a pivotal time in my career to capture and share the action with all my fans,” said Villegas. “My goal is to be on the podium at every round with my eyes always on the overall championship.”
Drift looks forward to following Villegas successes and sharing his footage with all of their fans. Be sure to keep checking back for regular updates on the Drift website http://www.driftinnovation.com and via Facebook and Twitter.
