Become a Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor in Arizona

If you have experience in hunting and are interested in passing your love of the outdoors on to a new generation of sportsmen and women, consider becoming a Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor. Arizona Game and Fish Department is looking for knowledgeable individuals to teach hunter education courses. Sign up now for a FREE training program for future volunteer hunter education instructors.

The two-day Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor program will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 at the department’s Pinetop Regional Office, 2878 E. White Mountain Blvd. Volunteer instructors must be at least 18 years old.

If selected to participate in the Volunteer Hunter Education Instructor program, you’ll learn how to teach a standardized curriculum and share your knowledge of hunting and the outdoors. By the time the 16-hour course is done you’ll be ready to work with teams to promote safe, ethical and responsible hunting.

Volunteer hunter education instructors make it possible for Game and Fish to offer hunter education programs to people of all ages at locations throughout Arizona. New hunters learn about safely handling firearms and bowhunting equipment, the importance of wildlife management, and gain a good working knowledge of important laws and regulations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to share your knowledge and passion with youngsters and adults who are interested in learning about Arizona’s hunting tradition. Advance registration is required and space is limited, so don’t delay. Call now to learn more about the program and reserve your spot. Contact Dave Williams at (623) 236-7434 or dwilliams@azgfd.gov, or Ashley Lynch at (623) 236-7242 or alynch@azgfd.gov.
