Team GLOCK’s Tori Nonaka Competes in Canada’s IPSC Level III Summer Fun Championship

Team GLOCK continued excelling in the 2012 season as Tori Nonaka earned second lady in the Standard division, and eighth overall out of 51 competitors at the 2012 International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Level III Summer Fun Championship held June 22, 2012 in Kingston, Ontario.

IPSC shooting focuses on competing with firearms in dynamic courses of fire that feature multiple, moving, reactive and penalty targets, obstacles and movement. IPSC also ensures that freestyle strategies and techniques are part of the matches, keeping spectators entertained and competitors challenged.

Nonaka competed with a G35 pistol. “This competition enabled me to take my first trip to Canada,” stated Nonaka. “It was also my first opportunity to compete against three-time ladies’ Canadian standard champion Sarah Lao. We shot a very fun and competitive back–and-forth match. In the end, Sarah edged me out by 1.07 percent. The Canadian shooters made me feel so welcome and I look forward competing in the Canadian Nationals in August.”

Nonaka will compete next at Florida’s Pro-Am match held on July 14-15, 2012 at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, Fla.
