Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, is proud to sponsor Kids’ Fest on July 14 on Wampum Lake in Lansing, Ill. This FREE annual festival is host by Fishin’ Buddies!, a local non-profit fishing club that get kids outside, and the Forest Preserve of Cook County. Sportsman Channel is sponsoring the event as well as filming the day’s activities for future appearance on Comcast Xfinity On Demand service in the Chicagoland area.
Kids’ Fest promises camping, boating and fishing fun for all age groups. This FREE event will get kids more interested in the outdoors by offering clinics and small group activities throughout the day. Even though the event is free, you still need to reserve your tickets by registering at http://fbkidsfest.eventbrite.com
“Fishin’ Buddies has grown tremendously over the years and we are very happy to have sponsors like Sportsman Channel to help bring awareness to encouraging minorities to get involved in the outdoors,” said John Kidd, President of Fishin’ Buddies.
Sportsman Channel is giving away kids rod-n-reel packs and lures every hour in their booth. Plus, they are also filming the event for inclusion on the Xfinity On Demand service in the Chicago area. The short video should be available later this summer by going to Channel 1, Get Local and then choose Sportsman Channel.
Fishin’ Buddies! Youth Fishing Club began 1991 with the South Suburban Bassmasters.
John Kidd, Jr., President of SSBM, wished to expand that group’s mission to include teaching Bass fishing to children. Fishin’ Buddies! has since greatly expanded its mission and range of activities to include: environmental and ecological concerns, education, and providing summer and part-time work environmental restoration programs for teenagers.
Watch Sportsman Channel in the Chicagoland area on Xfinity channel 416 and available in HD on channel 252. Visit http://comcast.com for details on how to get Sportsman Channel.
