Trout Bum Talks Cutthroat Egg Planting

   07.19.12

T.L. Lauerman, conservation director for the White River Chapter of Trout Unlimited, visits the Ozark Trout Bum podcast in July to talk about his group’s effort to establish a wild cutthroat population in Arkansas Rivers.

“It’s a fascinating project, with all kinds of great implications for the White and Norfork rivers,” said show host Steve Brigman. “By using this marker fish, we’ll know for sure how successful the effort is, which will prompt more egg plantings down the road.”

Also visiting the Trout Bum this month is Phil Lilley, who breaks down a seasonal approach to fishing Lake Taneycomo. Tim Homesley joins the show with tips on fishing smaller streams, including donning a camouflaged turkey facemask. Regular contributor John Berry shares his advice on becoming a guide and fishing big streamers for big trout.

“Phil know Taneycomo as well as anyone, and his interview makes a good introduction to new anglers and veterans alike,” Brigman said.
