Bear Fists of Fury: Japanese “Kung Fu Bear” Has Serious Skills

This footage, which was filmed by Canadian youtube user alexbuzzkentaroguy at the Asa Zoo in Japan, shows a bear putting on amazing display of animal dexterity. This video has drawn a fair amount of skeptics, but the Asa Zoo has confirmed that they do indeed have a bear that puts on these types of displays. His cage is filled with bats and sticks to encourage him to perform. Furthermore, in an interview with the Telegraph, animal behavior expert Professor Marc Bekoff from the University of Colorado said that video appears to be real.

“This is an amazing example of animal object control. This goes beyond normal animal usage of complex tools but then again you can train seals to balance balls on their noses and train elephants to paint with their trunks, so why not this?”
