Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks 08.27.12
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is seeking public comment on a draft environmental assessment (EA) to provide shooting range grant funds to a proposed project at the Deer Creek Shooting Center, located between East Missoula and Bonner.
The Western Montana Fish & Game Association (WMFGA) operates the facility and would use the $22,750 in partial funding to improve visibility and safety in an existing shooting lane, address vehicle safety concerns on a range access road and install two new shooting bays.
A copy of the draft environmental assessment on this project is available by visiting the FWP website under “Public Notices,” by email from wacooperider@mt.gov or by writing FWP, attn: Wayde Cooperider, PO Box 200701, Helena MT 59620.
Written comments will be accepted through 5p.m. on Sept. 7, 2012 and may be submitted through the FWP website, fwp.mt.gov, under “Public Notices,” by email to wacooperider@mt.gov or by mail to FWP; Attn: Shooting Range Grant Proposals; PO Box 200701; Helena MT 59620.
Montana’s Shooting Range Grant Program, administered by FWP, provides funding to private shooting clubs, organizations, local governments and school districts to build and improve public shooting ranges throughout the state. The grants are issued annually, and the next deadline to apply will be May of 2013.
