Minnesota’s Late Wolf Season Lottery Winners Have until Thursday to Buy License
Hunters and trappers selected by lottery for Minnesota’s late wolf hunting season must purchase their license by Thursday, Nov. 15, or their license will be made available to others, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said.
Any late season licenses not sold by that date will be made available at noon on Monday, Nov. 19, on a first-come, first-served basis to early or late season applicants not selected in the lottery.
Any eligible hunter or trapper, regardless of whether he or she entered the wolf season lottery, may purchase a remaining late season license at noon Wednesday, Nov. 21.
As of Tuesday, Nov. 13, the DNR has sold more than 1,000 of the 1,800 late season hunting license available and more than 500 of the 600 wolf trapping licenses available.
The late hunting and trapping season begins Saturday, Nov. 24, and is scheduled to conclude Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. The season in each of Minnesota’s three wolf hunting zone will close earlier if a zone’s target harvest is reached before Jan. 31.
Licenses are available from any DNR license agent, online at www.mndnr.gov/buyalicense or by telephone at 888-665-4236. Complete wolf hunting regulations and current harvest counts are available online at www.mndnr.gov/hunting/wolf.
