California DFG Steelhead Report and Restoration Card Program to Solicit Grant Proposals Within Fisheries Restoration Grant Program 2013/2014 Proposal Solicitation Notice

DFG Steelhead Report and Restoration Card Program to solicit grant proposals within Fisheries Restoration Grant Program 2013/2014 Proposal Solicitation Notice.

The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) Steelhead Report and Restoration Card program (SHRRC) will accept grant proposals for steelhead restoration projects from Feb. 1 through March 15, 2013 through the Fisheries Restoration Grant Program (FRGP) Proposal Solicitation Notice (PSN), available Feb. 1st. Applicants are encouraged to prepare SHRRC proposals prior to the application deadline period and to fully read and understand the 2013/2014 PSN prior to submitting a proposal.

Previously, proposals were submitted directly to the SHRRC coordinator. However, in accordance to Director’s Bulletin 2012-03, proposals must now be submitted through a designated proposal solicitation process.

SHRRC funds are dedicated to monitoring, restoring, enhancing and protecting steelhead resources within watersheds  accessible to the
returning steelhead .  Projects must be located within watersheds covered by the SHRRC location codes and below barriers impeding the
return of the fish from sea water to fresh water (anadromy).  Over the past 20 years, the SHRRC has provided more than $1.8 million in funding for steelhead-related conservation and restoration projects statewide.  These funds are generated solely through the annual sale of Steelhead Report and Restoration Cards.

SHRRC funding for fiscal year 2013/2014 is expected to be approximately $150,000. Funding for proposals submitted under this proposal solicitation notice are subject to the availability of funds and approval of the Budget Act for the State fiscal year 2013/2014.
