Wisconsin DNR: Learn How to Trap from a Canoe

Fresh Air Educators, who hosts Wisconsin ATV, snowmobile, boater and hunter education online courses, has recently unveiled a FREE Paddle Safety Course. It only takes about an hour to complete, and you don’t have to complete it all in one sitting! Just sign up and you can sign in and out as you please to complete it.

If you’ve already taken ATV, snowmobile, boater, or hunter education through Fresh Air Educator’s online courses, you can use the same log-in you already created; if not, just create a new account. The course has been approved by NASBLA, the National Association of State Boating Laws Administrators, and provides guidance on buoys, suggestions for planning your trip, safety advice for both cold and hot weather, tips on properly loading your canoe or kayak, and some pointers for if you will be using a canoe or kayak for hunting and fishing. Great for new trappers, those trapping from a canoe for the first time, or those with boating experience who want some tips for cold weather safety. To take the course, you can find the link on our DNR Trapping website by following this link http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/trap/ or by going to dnr.wi.gov and using the keyword “trap”.
