Montana FWP Commission Closes Wolf Season in Small Portion of WMU 390
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks 12.11.12
On Dec. 10, 2012 the FWP Commission adopted a wolf hunting and trapping season closure effective immediately in two areas of deer and elk hunting district HD 313, found within the boundary of Wolf Management Unit 390. The remaining portion of Wolf Management Unit 390 will remain open. The FWP Commission closed the two areas after considering public concern over the harvest of wolves that wandered out of Yellowstone National Park.
Below is the general closure area description:
- SW portion of deer and elk HD 313 bordered by Yellowstone National Park on the south, Mill/Cinnabar Creeks on the north, and HWY 89 on the east.
- SE portion of deer and elk HD 313, bordered by Yellowstone National Park on the south, Bear Creek on the west and the HD 313 boundary on the north and east.
