Arkansas’ Rose Joins Walmart Team For 2013 FLW Tour Season

FLW, the world’s premier tournament fishing organization, has announced that professional angler Mark Rose of West Memphis, Ark., will join the Walmart Fishing Team for the upcoming 2013 Walmart FLW Tour season. Rose will replace pro George Cochran, who retired this year after 32 years on the water as a professional fisherman.

“I have so much respect and admiration for what George has accomplished and his longevity in our sport,” said Rose, who has accumulated more than $1.6 million dollars in winnings throughout his 14-year career on the FLW Tour. “To be chosen to follow in George’s footsteps is an absolute honor. I’ve fished a long time and tried to do the best that I could do to represent good companies. I’ve shopped at Walmart since I was a kid. I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to represent Walmart in 2013.”

Walmart began its sponsorship of FLW in 1997, and became the long-term title sponsor in 2011. The partnership offers both companies a wide variety of marketing and promotional opportunities including Walmart in-store product marketing and promotions and retailtainment at FLW tournaments and Walmart stores. Walmart receives title exposure across all of FLW’s platforms, including its tournaments and Expos, multiple websites, FLW Bass Fishing magazine and the “FLW” television show on NBC Sports Network. “FLW” is broadcast Sundays in high-definition (HD) to more than 559 million households worldwide, making it the most widely distributed weekly outdoors-sports television show in the world.
