‘Any Deer’ Tags and ‘Any Whitetail Deer’ Tags will not convert to ‘Antlerless’ Tags for the Upcoming South Dakota Deer Season Beginning December 29

A regulation change affects the upcoming antlerless deer harvest beginning December 29 and ending January 6. ‘Any deer’ tags and ‘any whitetail deer’ tags will not convert to ‘antlerless’ tags for the extended season.

South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Regional Supervisor Arden Petersen said the rule adjustment is a significant change from the past several years.

“We want to make the regulation change clear to the public,” Petersen said. “Hunters, be advised that only those with unfilled ‘antlerless’ tags from the 2012 East and West River Deer Seasons are able to participate in the nine-day antlerless deer harvest this season.”
