Louisiana’s Joyce, Manchac and Maurepas Swamp WMAs Hunting Seasons Will Close Due to High Water Levels
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced today that all hunting seasons, except waterfowl, on Joyce, Manchac and Maurepas Swamp Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) will be closed starting Jan. 12, 2013, due to high water levels in the Maurepas Basin associated with recent rain events.
This hunting season closure on these three WMA’s in Ascension, Livingston, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Tangipahoa Parishes will remain in effect until further notice.
