Ruger’s American Rifle Delivers Compact Performance

The new Ruger American Rifle is a compact package with a shorter length of pull for smaller shooters or those who routinely wear heavier outerwear during cold-weather hunts. The American also features an 18-inch barrel, for a combined overall length reduction of more than five inches from Ruger’s full-size rifles.

These new rifles measure 36.75 inches overall, and are chambered for the .243 Winchester and 7mm-08 Remington, and have a four-round magazine. Their composite, lightweight stocks are finished in matte black, and are cut to provide a 12.5-inch length of pull. The American weighs six pounds, its barrel twist is 1 turn every 9.5 inches, and its MSRP is $449.

Other key features include a Ruger Marksman adjustable trigger with weights between 3 and 5 pounds, soft rubber recoil pad, one-piece three-lug bolt with 70-degree throw for ample scope clearance, hammer-forged matte-black barrel, and a visible and easily used safety for reliable security.

The receiver and barrel do not come with metal sights, but are drilled and tapped for mounting scope bases, which are included. Contact (603) 865-2442 or www.ruger.com.
