2013 ACUI Championships: International Trap and Skeet Competition

The Association of College Unions International (ACUI) will host and USA Shooting (USAS) will sanction the First Annual International Shootout (ISO) at the start of the 2013 ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships to be held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, TX. This event is part of the ACUI Shotgun Bowl Series.

The course of fire for International Bunker Trap and International Skeet will be a 75 target Preliminary Round plus a Final Round. The 2012 ISSF / USAS rules will be in effect for this event and the ACUI divisional events. The date of the ISO is Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The final rounds will be shot in the late afternoon or early evening.

The top six competitors, in the men and women’s division, from the ACUI International Divisional Championships, in Tucson and Ft. Benning, will receive an automatic invitation and will pay no entry fee. Additional ISO slots will be filled by college athletes that participate in the ACUI Divisional Championships and do not make the top six, and finally by any athlete who has participated in a USAS–sanctioned event in the last 12 months. The last two groups will be required to pay a nominal entry fee. The new USAS-ISSF rules will be in effect for this event but not for the traditional ACUI events on Thursday and Friday.

USA Shooting and Winchester ammunition are supplying International ammunition for all participants and USAS will award two USAS National Development Team slots (one male and one female) in each discipline.

Online applications will be accepted after the conclusion of the ACUI International Divisional Championships. Go to the ACUI website at http://www.acui.org/claytargets for additional information and the application.

How to register for the ACUI International Shoot Out:

  1. Compete at the West Coast International Championship (WCIC) at Tucson Trap and Skeet Club, Feb. 1-3, 2013 in Tucson, AZ or the East Coast International Championship (ECIC) March 8-10, 2013 in Ft. Benning, GA and place in the top six.
  2. Compete at the West Coast International Championship or the East Coast International Championship in Ft. Benning, GA and apply online for an available slot.
  3. Compete in any USAS sanctioned International Trap or Skeet event between March 26, 2012 and March 10, 2013 and apply online for an available slot.

The ISO is a special one–day event held at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships. The ISO and the ACUI Divisional Championships are not qualifiers for any of the usual ACUI championship events in San Antonio.

ACUI has organized the collegiate clay target championships for 45 years. The CTC Shotgun Bowl Series was created to provide additional opportunities for competition closer to participating campuses, thereby allowing full team roster participation.
