Tips Sought in Montana Wasted Game Case

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials are seeking information from the public about the illegal wasting of two mule deer bucks dumped in a roadside ditch 2.1 miles west on Richland County Road 152 from Highway 16 North, near Culbertson.

FWP Warden Steve Marx said the deer were likely dumped in the road ditch Friday January 18 or Saturday January 19th. Both bucks were shot with rifles, cut in half and hung before being abandoned. No meat was taken off of either deer; both were completely wasted. Montana law prohibits the waste of game animals.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Marx directly at 406-377-1775 or the Turn In Poachers-Montana hotline at 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be offered a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
