Suunto Earns Outdoor Inspiration Award at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013

Suunto, a global leader in sports precision instruments, is proud to announce its award from the third annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards presented by Adidas during Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2013. These awards recognize individuals, groups and companies that motivate others to become active in the outdoors though moving stories of personal achievement and an unending passion for the outdoors.
Suunto earned honors in the company category for being an industry leader in innovative and functional outdoor sports instruments designed specifically for outdoor adventurers for more than 76 years. Most recently, Suunto launched the game-changing Ambit GPS watch, the only watch that can be adjusted to consumers’ evolving needs. The Ambit allows users to upgrade, customize and build their own apps to personalize their individual demands.

At a prestigious award ceremony January 24rd, Stowell and Olli Osara, Suunto Oy’s Athletic Outdoor Business Unit Director, accepted a trophy on behalf of the global company, thanking customers for their role in creating next-generation outdoor equipment.
Suunto was founded in 1936 by Tuomas Vohlonen, a Finnish orienteer and inventor of the liquid-filled field compass. Since then Suunto has been at the forefront of design and innovation for sports watches, dive computers and instruments used by adventure seekers all over the globe. From the top of the mountain to the bottom of the sea, Suunto physically and mentally equips outdoor adventurers to conquer new territory.
