Reward Increased for Tips on Moose Poaching Near Avon, Montana

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks game wardens continue to seek tips on a cow moose that was poached last week northeast of Avon, and those that share information on the case may now receive up to $2,000.

Public donations bumped the reward amount from the original offering of $1,000 to $2,000 for providing tips that lead to a conviction in the case. Callers can remain anonymous and should phone 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668).

Game warden Joe Kambic says that the moose was poached Monday, Feb. 18 near Carpenter and Ophir Creeks. The moose had evidence of multiple gunshot wounds from a small caliber rifle.

Kambic reminds anyone with information on the case to call 1-800-TIP-MONT or to contact him directly at 406-490-1227.
