KTM and Cairoli Together for 2014, 15 & 16

KTM chose the opening MX1 GP of the season, the race held under lights at the Losail Circuit in the Gulf State of Qatar to announce that their relationship with top Italian rider Tony Cairoli was being extended for another three seasons.

Cairoli, who is a leading light in the sport and equally respected both on and off the track he has mastered so brilliantly, will continue to race in the colors of the Red Bull KTM Factory Race Team in 2014, 2015 and 2016, Pit Beirer, head of KTM Motorsports announced at a press conference.

“Tony joined us when we launched the KTM 350 SX-F bike and we have not only enjoyed great success with this partnership; it has also been one of trust and confidence. It was the wish from both sides that this successful partnership continues and we are of course delighted to extend it through to 2016,” Beirer said speaking from Qatar.

Beirer also confirmed that Cairoli’s manager Claudio de Carli and personnel that came to the factory team with the Italian racer would continue in this role through to 2016.

Carioli joined the factory team at the beginning of the 2010 season already as a seasoned World Champion after having won the MX2 title in 2005 and 2007 and the MX1 title in 2009. He continued to master his chosen sport to remain at the top in 2010, 2011 and 2012, during which he had a golden season taking eleven victories, one second place and two third place podiums. He is not only know for his superb riding on all types of surfaces but for his off track consideration as a team player in the factory team.

Tony has been a model rider of the KTM 350 SX-F machine against the bigger 450 cc competition bikes and is also a great role model for the younger team members.
