Gomez and Calloway Win ASA LA Titles in Louisiana

The third tournament of the season for the ASA was held April 5 – 7 in West Monroe Louisiana. The competitors are in midseason form and the scores are tight. When the winners were announced, Thomas Gomez and Connie Calloway won the championship in their respective classes.
In the Open Pro class, Thomas Gomez showed that he is a tough competitor. Gomez had a final score of 486-19 to win his first tournament of the season. Gomez has finished in the top 5 in each of the first three tournaments of the year for the ASA. There were a total of four Mathews shooters in the top ten. The rest of the top ten included: Levi Morgan, 463,18, 5th place; Justin Bethel, 418-14, 7th place and Darrin Christenberry, 414-13 in 9th place.
In the Women’s Pro class, Connie Calloway got her first win of the season. Calloway had a final score of 459-7 and captured the title. Second place went to Sharon Carpenter, with a score of 454-5. Kailey Johnston finished in third with a score of 445-10. Mathews finished with eight of the top ten finishers in the class. The rest of the top ten included Kaitlyn Price, 431-4, 5th place; Ginger Morehead, 388-4, 7th place; Erika Lundeen, 387-6, 8th place; Angie Massey, 386-8, 9th place and Wanda Dye, 381-5 in 10th place.
In the Senior Pro class, the top Mathews finisher was Art Brown. Brown had a final score of 473-14 and finished in second place. Third place went to Colin Boothe with a score of 471-12. Mathews finished with eight of the top ten finishers in the class. The rest of the top ten included: Bobby Cothran, 469-13, 4th place; Tom Crowe, 460-14, 5th place; Bill Pellegrino, 407-9, 6th place; Ray Young, 406-9, 8th place; Lynn Morrison, 406-8, 9th place and Charles Blankenship, 402-10 in 10th place.
