Utah Bird Walk in the Wetlands Preserve

You can enjoy beautiful spring weather and see colorful birds during a free bird walk at the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve held in commemoration of the International Migratory Bird Day.

The Moab Bird Club and Division of Wildlife Resources will hold the bird walk on May 4, starting at 8 a.m. “We’ll meet in the parking lot on the south end of the preserve, just off the Kane Creek Access Road,” says Brent Stettler, regional conservation outreach manager for the DWR.

Stettler says you don’t have to register to participate. “Please bring a pair of binoculars and a field guide, if you have them,” he says. “A few pairs of binoculars will be available for those who don’t have their own.”

Stettler asks you to leave your pets at home. Although some birders will stay until noon, participants can leave the group at any time. For more information, call Stettler at 435-613-3707.
