May 31 is Online Application Deadline for Resident Limited-Quota Elk, Deer, Antelope Licenses in Wyoming

The deadline for Wyoming resident big game hunters to apply online for limited-quota elk, deer, and antelope licenses is May 31. For hunters planning to submit paper applications, the deadline is May 15.

To be included in the drawings, paper applications must be received by the department’s Cheyenne office by 5 p.m. May 15. Those applying online have until 5 p.m. May 31. Hunters who wait until after 5 p.m. on May 31 to apply online will find that the system will not accept applications. For hunters who choose to apply through the mail, all applications must be received in the Cheyenne office by the deadline date (regardless of the postmark date).

To reduce the uncertainty of mailed paper applications arriving on time, hunters are encouraged to use the electronic licensing service. Applying online also reduces errors. When a hunter fills out an online application field incorrectly, the error or omission is noted and the hunter must make the correction before proceeding. Hunters may apply online at wgfd.wyo.gov. More than 90 percent of applications are received online.

Online applications can be processed faster and with less effort, representing significant cost-savings for Game and Fish and expediting drawings. In addition, online applicants who change their mind regarding area selection after submitting their application can easily modify their application at any time during the application period by using wgfd.wyo.gov.

Some areas have changes from previous years, so hunters are advised to check seasons, license types, and quotas before applying. The one-page big game summary maps (available in print in previous years) containing this information are now available online only at wgfd.wyo.gov.
