Gregg Kratochvil Takes SSR Title at Comp-Tac Republic of Texas IDPA Championship

Gregg Kratochvil claimed the Stock Service Revolver division title this Memorial Day weekend at the Lone Star State’s premier IDPA competition, the Comp-Tac Republic of Texas Championship.
Kratochvil, who earlier this season won the Enhanced Service Revolver title at the 11th Annual West Texas IDPA Regional, topped the division on five of the 10 stages before posting a final time of 252.66 seconds, shooting 35 points down.
“Gregg is one of the great gentlemen of our sport and a fantastic wheelgunner to boot. His win this weekend is just one more example of why Gregg is one of the top-ranked revolver shooters in the America,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
Taking second place with three stage wins was Garry Newton who finished in 266.40 seconds with 39 points down. Third place went to Jack Davis with two stage wins and first Expert honors with a time of 274.66 (52). Fourth in the division went to the hardest working wheelgunner in the competition, Match Director Darrell Sells, who ended the match with 45 points down in a time of 311.97 seconds. Rounding out the top five was Todd Speck with 327.58 (64).

Sanctioned by the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) the Republic of Texas Championship was held at the ImpactZone Range in Hempstead and drew more than 200 top shooters from throughout Texas and across the United States.
