Team Smith & Wesson’s Jerry Miculek won the Enhanced Service Revolver division title this Memorial Day weekend at the Lone Star State’s premier IDPA competition, the Comp-Tac Republic of Texas Championship.
Miculek, who is ranked a Distinguished Master in IDPA, but also widely regarded as the world’s greatest revolver shooter, won all but one of the 10 stages on his way to winning the title with a final time of 215.94 with 55 points down.
“There is nothing you can say about Jerry and his skills with a revolver that hasn’t already been said. He never ceases to amaze shooters and his presence on any range is always a welcome sight to his fellow competitors,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
Placing second behind Miculek was Deon Greenwood, first Expert, with 293.69 (91), followed by Robert Briggs, also an Expert class shooter, with 316.52 (41). Fourth place went to James Ash, first Sharpshooter, with 331.22 (51) while fifth place went to Claude Clark, another Sharpshooter who finished with 410.76 (133).
Duane Hemphill took first Marksman in the ESR division with a time of 418.62 seconds and 50 points down.
