Video: Why We Are All Hunters

OutdoorHub founder and chairman David Farbman recently spoke at the University of Michigan Dearborn TEDx event, relating his inspirational message of “The Hunt.” Whether one is a spiritual leader, media mogul, or holding a bow on a freezing treestand, David makes the point that all are hunters in some way. Everyone has targets in life, and with the right amount of skill and experience, one might just bring home a trophy.

In his speech, David relates the story of his well-intentioned quest to popularize hunting as a sport, the controversial World Hunting Association (WHA). However, good intentions don’t exactly equate to good foresight, and the WHA went down in flames after the outrage that it incited from the hunting community. So David did the unthinkable and went to his key critics for advice. He got down on his knees and with great humility, showed an eagerness to learn. Out of this experience David transformed his detractors into close allies, and more importantly, formed the philosophy of The Hunt and how it relates to hunters and non-hunters alike.
