Video: Moose Duel Ends in Serious Injury

It’s sometimes easy to forget that moose injure more people than any other wild mammal in North America. Despite appearing to be gentle giants, moose can be very aggressive and especially so during mating season. Bull moose fight over females in titanic duels that involve thousands of pounds of meat, muscle, and antler crashing together. The video below is a remainder that these battles often end with serious injuries, and that the moose is an animal to be respected.

According to Roger Oullet, who captured the video in Maine, the losing male was able to limp away after the fight.
