SilencerCo – a silencer manufacturer and leading innovator in the fastest-growing segment of the firearms industry – announced today a limited-edition run of T-shirts to aid military charity Operation Supply Drop and their upcoming event, “8-Bit Salute.” The company will donate $5 from each sale to the organization.
Production of the shirts will be limited to five designs, released individually on a weekly basis at www.silencerco.com. Each is punctuated by a throwback design that buyers will recognize from classic Nintendo NES games – coinciding with OSD’s aim to provide gaming-themed care packages to deployed and injured troops in combat zones throughout the world.
“Partnering with Operation Supply Drop enables us to pay homage to the incredible work of our military servicemen and women and show our love for video games in support of a good cause,” said Josh Waldron, Chief Executive Officer for SilencerCo. “We are excited to be able to give something back to our troops in a fun, creative way that can be enjoyed by so many.”
In its third year, 8-Bit Salute is a 24-hour gaming marathon with a goal of raising $1 million (USD) to provide video game-themed care packages to troops deployed to combat zones or recovering in military hospitals. It will take place May 17-18.
“We are honored and pleased to be working with one of the most trusted brands in the outdoor sporting goods industry to support Operation Supply Drop and 8-Bit Salute,” said Chief Marketing Officer Glenn Banton of Operation Supply Drop. “SilencerCo joins an incredible roster of fantastic organizations who have answered the call, bolstering our efforts to provide much-needed diversion and stress relief to our embattled brothers and sisters in the military around the world.”
