Video: Deputies Rescue Small Doe from Florida Hot Tub

Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies retrieved a small doe that had fell into a pool spa on Thursday. According to Fox 13, the Palm Harbor homeowners first saw two deer wandering around their backyard early in the morning. One of the animals ran into the property’s fence and fell down into the pool’s spa area.

“I’ve been in law enforcement for nearly 25 years and I’ve never received a call like this,” Deputy Timothy McTaggart told Bay News 9.

Deputies were assisted by a professional wildlife trapper, who was the one to jump down into the hot tub and help retrieve the animal. It took the doe a little while to regain its composure, but it was uninjured by the fall and more than happy to flee the scene.

“This is one of my feel-good stories of being a law enforcement officer,” McTaggart said. “Because it has a happy ending.”
