A pair of prancing deer took a wrong turn somewhere last Friday and ended up on San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the deer were first reported to Highway Patrol officers at 5:24 p.m. The confused critters held up traffic for a short while as motorists moved aside to let them pass by, but were eventually able to cross the bridge safely. Both deer appeared to be unharmed by the incident, although police said that one of them may have been hit by a car during their trek across the bridge. The Golden Gate Bridge spans roughly 1.7 miles from the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. It is one of the most-recognized bridges in the world.
For drivers on the evening commute, this pair of deer was just another representative of the city’s unpredictable traffic.
