Baskin-Robbins Honors Service Members and Veterans with Camo Ice Cream

With an eye toward Veterans Day, the ice cream chain Baskin-Robbins has unveiled its newest Flavor of the Month: First Class Camouflage. Consisting of a combination of chocolate, salty caramel, and cake-flavored ice cream, these camouflaged treats are what Baskin-Robbins President Bill Mitchel—a US Army veteran himself—calls a “fun and unique way” to celebrate the service of America’s military personnel. Of course, a few new flavors and camouflaged waffle cones are not the only way that the ice cream company is giving back. Baskin-Robbins also announced that it will donate 10 cents from every ice cream scoop sold in the US to the United Service Organization (USO), in support of the troops, veterans, and their families.

“We’re excited to honor our military service members and veterans this November through our long-standing partnership with the USO, and hope our guests will join our efforts in supporting the USO on Veterans Day when we will make a donation for every scoop of ice cream sold in our U.S. restaurants to the organization,” Mitchell said in a press release.

The announcement was well-received by fans on Facebook, especially by hunters who commented that the colors matched their own camouflage.

Veterans and returning service members interested in starting their own business may also be interested in another program by Baskin-Robbins. The ice cream chain, which touts itself as the world’s largest, is offering an incentive program to veterans thinking about opening their own Baskin-Robbins franchise. In support of the military community, Baskin-Robbins is waiving the 20-year initial franchise fee of $25,000 and offer reduced royalty rates for honorably discharged US veterans.

We’re patiently waiting for a Realtree or Mossy Oak flavor.
