Elephants may not be the kings of the jungle, but there are few predators who will mess with them. As if to demonstrate this, the video below shows that even a young elephant can stand its own against more than a dozen of the savanna’s fiercest predators.
Adult elephants are practically impervious to anything lions can throw at them, so the big cats usually target calves. Even then, the tough skin and large size of these young animals usually deter most attempts. Elephants are also very protective of their own and will charge any predator that tries and make a meal out of their family members, so predation is not a big concern.
Despite their numbers, these lions had no chance.
