This is probably a stupid idea.

Adventurer and animal expert Coyote Peterson has had a lot of close encounters with wild animals, but letting an alligator snapping turtle bite his arm may be one of his most questionable decisions. Alligator snapping turtles are widely feared for their intimidating beaks and the crushing power of their bite. Granted, experts say that these turtles can only bite about as hard as humans—but humans can bite very hard. More than enough to sheer off a few fingers.

Peterson tests out this turtle’s biting power by first feeding it a drumstick, which the turtle absolutely mangles. After all that, he still wants to wave his arm in front of the turtle’s face.

Spoiler alert: Peterson does wrap his arm in a protective layer beforehand. This is probably a wise decision, especially after seeing the holes the turtle punched into the drumstick. While the arm wrapping may defeat the purpose of the video, it’s still worth a watch.

  1. BWAHAHAHAHAHA, You are a prime candidate for a Darwin Award winner. You would do something this stupid for internet ratings? 1200lbs /sq in and you put your arm in it’s beak. Which parent claims you?

  3. Dude, so many of your viewers want you to be bitten because they think you are a complete idiot, and you know what? They are absolutely, spot on, 100% correct… :-I Hey, although I’m not a viewer (with this one regrettable exception), let’s all start a quest to have you survive being tossed into a pit of Black Mambas…. I bet you won’t… c’mon…
