Two men fishing the Black Warrior River in Alabama brought new meaning to the term “catfishing” this weekend when they brought an unexpected catch aboard: two young kittens.

Jason Frost and Brandon Key were putting along on the river when they noticed a tiny kitten swimming toward their boat. After it got close, Frost pulled the mewling orange-and-white feline aboard and gave it some comforting pets.

“Is this not the craziest thing y’all have ever seen?” Frost asks the camera.

The anglers were then joined by another kitten that swims from shore right up to their boat—which may even be the first cat’s twin, based on how similar they look.

I really don’t know how to describe this video, but the Warrior River never fails to surprise me……this puts a new spin on the term “catfishing”

  1. The low life jerk water brain dead idiot that dumped those kittens on the river swamp should be the one left all alone and naked as far back in the swamp as possible. No doubt he also left the kittens mother along with the rest of the litter.

  2. Kind of a “special sign” I think fellas, so you may want to adopt a couple of kitties for the kids to play with! These two might have been meant to join your family for some reason. I’d take em’ home and dry em’ off, and see if they like their “heroes” back yard. Might turn out to be destiny. Just my 2 cents. Brave little suckers in any event, with big Lunkers looking for lunch in that water!

  3. This is such a cruel way to get rid of unwanted kittens. There are shelters and i never had a problem giving mine away, but i also got mother cat fixed. There are so many evil people out there. It is a real problem that is everywhere. I belong to several animal rights groups that defend animals and all the stuff you hear on television doesn’t mention this. It should be mandatory to have all pets that are not pure bred with papers neutered and spayed.

  4. I echo Jesse James’ (and all’s) sentiments…despite being the ‘feel-good’ story of the week, I worry that they might be the ‘only ones’ who ‘made it out of the bag’…or managed to swim to land. When you think about it, the chances are not very great that the ‘jackass’ who is responsible for them winding up here in the first place, actually ‘boated them’ out to this little island and dropped them off on land. It was, no doubt, only by luck and their own sheer determination that they managed to get on dry land…I’ll bet. And there were easily others who did not…
