It’s not everyday that you encounter a python and a cobra in a life-or-death battle while walking to class, but that what happened to students at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University.

Passers-by on Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University campus were shocked last Thursday when what’s believed to be a reticulated python and a king cobra began “fighting” each other on the street.

Reports from witnesses said the battle went on for about 30 minutes before the 10-foot-long cobra escaped the grasp of the python. Both of the snakes escaped alive, and they were later captured by university officials and relocated off campus.

  1. King Cobras live almost exclusively on other snakes, this one obviously was unable to handle a Python, so this was not a “fight” in any sense. I am unsure if this was an actual King Cobra. I doubt it. The other attachments regarding snakes are full of errors and wrong identifications. Some are even attributed to the wrong continent. The people who put this stuff together should take up some other job, since they have no idea what they are talking about. Total BS!
