Video: Man Wears Roadkill Skin to Attack Beehive

Now before you get the idea that the man in this video has no idea what he’s doing, or is in some sort of strange—–and uniquely Australian—cult, we’d like to remind you that he is a professional. Or at least he claims to be.
Remember Andrew Ucles? The Australian primitive survival expert may not be producing as many videos today as he did in the past, but his latest one was perhaps his craziest. Keep in mind that this is a man who earned his fame by catching animals such as deer, kangaroos, and several of the world’s most venomous snakes bare-handed. This time Ucles takes on his most implacable enemy yet: honey bees.
Similar to the time when Bear Grylls skinned a seal to make a swimsuit, Ucles says that primitive cultures needed protection when taking on beehives. Understandable, given that even modern beekeepers go fully protected when extracting honey. Ucles’s version of protection however, includes skinning old roadkill and wearing their fur as makeshift armor before climbing up a tree to assault the hive. While the raid is successful and Ucles does get his fistful of honey, we’re not sure the whole ordeal was worth it. This is definitely one primitive survival method that is not for everyone.
