Slow-motion Video: Testing the Army’s New M855A1 Ammo

The new Army’s new M855A1 5.56x45mm round certainly looks like an improvement over the old M855.

The new round is distinguished from the previous round by its copper-jacketed steel core. Based on the video below, it looks like old M855 round and its lead core won’t be missed too much. The new M855A1 also boasts increased armor penetration over its predecessor and it allows the Army to be more environmentally friendly on its ranges and training environments.
