Florida Woman Shot by Ammo Stored in Oven While Making Waffles

A woman in Tampa Florida was only slightly injured when her friend’s oven began firing rounds off at her. That was not a typo.

Aalaya Walker was visiting her friend when she decided to cook up some late-night waffles. Walker began preheating the oven – not aware that her friend thought it was a good idea to store a loaded magazine in there. JJ Sandy, a legal gun owner, was keeping a magazine from his .45-caliber Glock 21 in his oven.

When the oven got hot enough, the magazine exploded and began spraying fragments at high speed and striking Walker in the leg and chest.

We can understand hiding magazines around your house – in secret locations only you are aware of – but please don’t treat your oven like a gun safe.
