KUIU Files Fraud Lawsuit Against Eastmans’ Publishing Inc.

Eastmans’ Publishing Inc. has found themselves in a bit of hot water, after clothing and gear maker KUIU filed a federal lawsuit against them for fraud.

According to a federal lawsuit, Eastmans’ has allegedly been drawing in more revenue from advertisers by dolling out inflated circulation numbers, therefore increasing advertising rates in its publications: Eastmans’ Hunting Journal and Eastmans’ Bowhunting Journal.

The lawsuit states that Eastmans claimed annual circulation of over 48,000 of Eastmans’ Hunting Journal and over 33,500 for Eastmans’ Bowhunting Journal.

Well, KUIU did some research and obtained some data from Eastmans’, which confirmed the total for the Hunting Journal was less than 40,000 and the Bowhunting Journal circulated well under 25,000 (between 2011 and 2015).
