Video: Bear Perched in Tree Watches Unaware Cyclists

Do you see anything unusual in the photo above? Go ahead look again. In this amusing video, a black bear observes a bike race from a tree just above the track, and none of the bikers had any clue it was there.
The race was the MEC Triathlon Sprint in Coquitlam, British Columbia, and the racers were all completely oblivious to the bear perched in the tree as they raced by. It’s a good thing the bear was preoccupied eating a mess of berries instead of coming down to join in on the festivities.
We’re glad that nobody was harmed in this situation. Could you imagine riding down a bike trail and having a large black bear drop unexpectedly right in front of you?
