It’s dinner time for this baby tiger muskie and trout, and man they’re ready to eat!

This is really amazing to see these fish in the early stages of life using their instincts to catch their prey.

The tiger muskie has this whole hunting thing down pretty good. It’s incredible how it locks onto the little minnow, and attacks it in the blink of an eye. The trout has the hang of it, too; did you see that topwater strike?!

The best is when the little muskie has the baitfish trapped in the corner of the tank. Just like you see when they’re much bigger, they stalk the prey, waiting for the right moment to strike. The muskie creeps closer and then BAM! It hits the minnow and gulps it down in a flash. This has to be the coolest fish tank ever!

That is not a Tiger Muskie. The dark teardrop line under its eye IDs it as a Grass Pickerel.

In 5th grade, I did a show & tell on bass predation of guppies, dropping individual guppies into the tank with (2) 8″ bass. The teacher asked me to stop after the 3rd guppy….

I’ve always wanted a tank with fresh water game fish in it. Very cool.
