Video: Gripping Facebook Live Video Captures Truck Plunge Through Ice

Think about this video next time you’re debating whether to drive your truck out on the ice. We’ve seen so many occurrences just in the past few months of people taking the risk on unsafe ice, and it never ends well.

For Ko’ona Cochrane and her partner, the story stays pretty much the same.

The two were driving across a frozen Lake Winnipeg on their way to her mother’s house when Ko’ona decided to take a Facebook Live video of the trek across the lake. What Ko’ona didn’t realize was she was about to capture one of the more dramatic and terrifying videos we’ve seen in a long time.

If you’re up for it, take a look at the gripping footage Ko’ona posted to her Facebook page:

Fortunately, the two were able to escape the truck, shaken, but relatively uninjured. Cochrane called 911, who then got her in contact with RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police.) She posted one more photo after the incident with the caption reading, “Goodbye truck but at least we’re alive.”
