A Texas judge has come up with a brilliant sentence for a poacher who was convicted of killing a 19-point white-tailed buck with a rifle in an archery-only county on private property.
According to CBS Austin, 34-year-old John Walker Drinnon of Whitesboro, Texas, was sentenced by a Grayson County judge to serve every weekend of hunting season in jail for the next 5 years.

Drinnon will also be placed on probation for 5 years, and will be forced to pay over $18,000 in civil restitution.
And just to be certain Drinnon won’t try to go out on a weekday and shoot more deer, the judge is prohibiting him from purchasing a hunting license while he carries out his sentence.
