Video: Pulling GIANT Lake Sturgeon Through the Ice on the St. Croix River

While out ice fishing the hardwater of the St. Croix River in Minnesota, Jake and Blake from Northwoods Angling hook into two huge lake sturgeon. Join them inside their pop-up ice shelter and watch them pull a true giant through the ice!

They call it a “super donkey,” and once you see this fish pulled through the ice, you’ll understand their vernacular a little bit better:

Good fishing, guys! It’s not always easy to stay patient when you feel a big one on the other end of your line, and that’s oftentimes when mistakes are made. They did a great job of staying patient all the way until the fish was above ice, and then they celebrated appropriately.

Now that’s what we call completing the process of the catch!

Here’s a short excerpt from the YouTube video that gives some insight on Northwoods Angling and what they’re all about:

“We are a few regular guys with regular 8-5 day jobs that stop at nothing to chase big fish anywhere this may take us. This passion occupies our minds constantly and propels us to chase our dreams, usually up and down a river.

Fishing has always been something each of us has been passionate about. So passionate, that we find ourselves juggling 50 hour work weeks, families and the sport we love in order to put out great content. Our sole purpose is to catch big fish and have a great time doing it. We will document each step of the way as best we can to capture the beauty of the places we go and the raw emotion tied to catching these big fish!”
